You can use other ingredients to cook your shrimp in like a simple olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. You can also get creative with this dish and use your favorite taco seasoning or a splash of soy sauce with chopped green onion and a side of rice.

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • a pinch of salt

How to Cook Garlic Shrimp in the Microwave – Step by Step

  1. Defrost your shrimp if it is frozen
  2. In a small bowl combine butter, garlic, parsley and salt; microwave on high for 30 seconds or until butter is melted and mix
  3. Place shrimp into a microwave safe baking dish, pour butter mixture over shrimp, cover with a plate or plastic wrap with holes poked in it and microwave on high for about 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink, drizzle with juice from half a lemon, enjoy!

Tips For Making Garlic Shrimp in the Microwave

Be careful the baking dish will be hot! Allow it to sit and cool in the microwave for one minute after it is finished cooking.

If you want to make this a meal for yourself and not cook a whole pound of shrimp, then cook half of a pound for 2 minutes, removing to stir halfway through. Be sure to keep an eye on the shrimp so it does not overcook.
